A Super Duper MeMe – Oy Vay! Here We Go Again!!

With that said, when I saw this going around on Memorial Day I was hoping that I wouldn’t be victimized selected for this illustrious task.  I was at first concerned about what I could come up with since I’ve written several already.  And then you were asked to YouTube and Flickr, etc.  Holy Moly, so much work and didn’t think that I’d be up to the task.  Then in my email this morning, I got a cute little message from Sandra Cummings, “Your it....have fun....”  Well, ‘fun’ wasn’t the first thing that came to mind.  OK, enough with the bellyaching.  Actually, I probably would have put this off to later, but see that so many people are being tagged and if I didn’t do this soon, then I’d have to try to find more victims, uh I mean, interested contestants.

The MeMe’s are floating around the blogsphere and as I stated I got tagged by Sandra, who was tagged by Jason Sardi, who was tagged by Jeff Belonger, who was tagged by Jeff Dowler, who was tagged by Mary McKnight, who started this crazy little game.  Whew,  just thinking of that is getting me tired already.  It’s the age thing, what can I say?  Probably a lot, but maybe not here – go figure!!

For a little background history, the purpose of a MeMe is to divulge a little something about you that others may not know.  It is a very interesting way of learning about people whose blog posts you read.  Then you, in this case, tag 8 more people to share in the love fest.

So without further ado here’s my MeMe:

  1. Who’s your favorite musical artist?  Wow!  This has changed so much during the course of my life.  I think that the first song that I really remember is this.  The first song that I recorded was this.  OK, so I know that I’m dating myself and I’m getting off track.  Was definitely into the Moody Blues in the late 60’s & 70’s.  Goodness, so many great groups/people are coming to mind:  Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; The Eagles; Linda Ronstadt; The Doors; Bad Company; Madonna (but that was much later on); The Police; U2; Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes; David Bowie; and, the list can go on and on as most of my posts do.  I was definitely into the English Beat in the late 70’s & early 80’s including the likes of Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe, Billy Idol, Graham Parker and the Rumor.  OK, so finally to my answer.  It would have to be someone that I first heard in the Main Lounge at Seton Hall University in, I think it was, ’73.  Can’t even tell you how many times I’ve seen him, but the answer would have to be Bruce Springsteen and especially with the E Street Band.  I would have to say that this is one of my all time favorites from the album The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle.

  1. Who is your favorite artist?  I tend to favor more abstract art and expressionism than the classics.  I think some of Kandinsky’s work is breath taking.  But on the other hand I also like Marc Chagall.  But I’d have to consider my favorites to be Folon folonand David Hockney. one of my favorite hockney's

  1. Who is your favorite blogger?  I generally do not like to pick favorites as is obvious by this post already.  But with that said, I would have to say hands down they (oops, can’t chose – they are all great in their own right, just read them and you’ll see) would include Andrew Lenza, Jason Sardi & Jennifer Bukaty.  I’m not going to even go into why because this will then become a novel.  Read each and you will understand in a heart beat.  If I see any of their names on my blogroll, my finger itches to click on their post (Sardi and Lenza don’t even think of going there!).

  1. If you could meet anyone (alive or dead), who would it be and what is the most interesting thing about them?  I just don’t really know.  Firstly, I must reiterate what Lenn Harley stated in that how would I know what is the most interesting thing about them if I haven’t met them already.  That said maybe I’m not imaginative enough to see myself in the company of someone possibly famous.  Like Popeye says, ‘I yams what I yams’ or something of that sort.

  1. What did you want to be when you grew up?  Maybe I’m getting old, but I can’t really remember except for one thing is that I always wanted to fly airplanes, but unfortunately was never able to for physical reasons.

  1. What is the most interesting piece of trivia you know?  Not very good at this one also.  I probably know a lot of what some may consider useless information, but when put on the spot…..  Sorry, can’t really think of something and all I’d do would be to Google it and then write something, but you can do that yourself.

  1. If you could live in any point in history what would it be and why?  Again, forgive me for not being imaginative and I surely can be, but I really like the times that I’ve lived through.  We’ve had our ups and downs, but then so has every other era.  I think when I was younger, I’d always thought of living in the future, but now I’m not so sure of that.

  1. What is the most interesting job you have ever held?  Now this is fun.  I always enjoyed being a Kosher Deliman, but my most favorite job, other than what I presently do (yet I don’t consider this a job) would have to be in the late 80’s.  I’d work for a restaurant and while there we opened up several more.  I was in charge of all of the wine, liquor and beer purchasing for all of the restaurants and handled all of the contractual services and basically anything that had to do with non food purchasing.  Additionally, I also coordinated the opening of all of the restaurants including the design as well, but mostly for the kitchen and wait stations.  Love the job and didn’t mind the long hours, but unfortunately, they just didn’t want to pay enough.

OK, that’s enough of me for a MeMe for a very long time.  Here are your next candidates and they all happen to be lovely ladies:

Jennifer Bukaty

Lisa Heindel

Jan Evett

Jeanette Neerpat

Sarah Cooper

Elaine Hanson

Elizabeth Weintraub

Paige Rausch

Jan Wood

Janet Guilbault

Two things:

1)  I hope that I haven't picked someone who's already been chosen; and,

2)  Tried to edit something, but didn't save it because I didn't like the way it came out and the program decided to save it on it's own - go figure!!  That's why the numbering now wrong.  How can something save when you just click away from it - go figure again!!!

ps.  Couldn't stand it looking incorrect, so went back in and reposted the info and it changes all my bullet point #'s to 1's.  What the hey!?!

pps.  I have to mention that it is with regret that I totally neglected to add Paul Slaybaugh to the cast of characters as one of my favorite bloggers.  Just read some of his prose if you haven't already and you'll immediately understand why!

Comments

Marc - You did a great job!  Now that wasn't too painful was it? And why you?  Well, why the heck not?

Posted by Guilford Connecticut Real Estate Agent, Sandra Cummings (William Raveis Real Estate) about 1 year ago

How can you all belt these out so quickly? Damn! I don't even know the answers to these questions yet ;-) But thanks Marc... I am humbled and delighted to be included in your list of favorites along with Sardi and Lenza. Bummer the way their squeezing me out of the wedding tho - grrrr.

You're a pretty interesting guy. I'm with you on the flying. I've been trying to learn how for ages, but I want to do it all by myself - no plane :) Why do I think you're holding out on us about the future?

p.s. I just LOVE dressing up as the bait ;-))

Posted by Allentown PA Real Estate Broker * Jennifer Monroe * about 1 year ago

Sandra - Not as much painful as time consuming.  I can think of a lot of reasons why not, but that's not to say that they would be valid!

Jennifer - This took several hours, I don't consider that quick!  Now about that wedding and Sardi in the white dress - I still have some questions about that!?!  :)  I ain't touching your last remark, and to have to secure Sardi's wrath!  Btw, thank you very much for the compliment.

Marc... Guess you rate pretty high.... I didn't get a cute little message!  I am starting to see enough similarities in all these posts to give me plenty of cut-and-paste material.  Maybe I'll pencil in my 15 minutes first thing in the morning.

To My Sardiboy... You adore that little bait thing I wear :) And you KNOW that you are the best catch ever!!

There Marc... now you're off the hook!

(someone stop me NOW!!)

Marc - Yes, meme are time consuming, but yours was worth it. (love the edits on the bottom)

Dan - You didn't get an email because you had already commented on my post by the time I started sending them out....Figured you had seen your name   : -)

Ms. Cupcake,  Glad you didn't dangle that worm-wear here on Marc's public post.  Then again... you always use a thousand words instead of a photo!  :-)

Posted by Dan Cummings - Connecticut's Running Realtor (Raveis Real Estate) about 1 year ago

Marc: not only did you pick my artist (both, music and artwise), but you tag some of my people! That's not kosher at all.... Oh wait, maybe you did yours faster than i spat mine out... Great Job!!!
Ditto to the edits on the bottom:-)

Marc:  I'm really enjoying these MEMEs again........  I think we all got burned out, but now that it's started again it's taking a life of its own.  This is THE funniest one by far (so far!).  What a hoot with the edit mode and the list of #1s.  Remind me not to number mine!  Thanks for tagging me... I love being in that list of some very illustrious and fun bloggers that you've chosen.  Some of them would have been my choices, so I will have to look a little deeper for my 8.

Now, can someone tell me if I've missed reading the date for this infamous and long-awaited wedding?  Do Jennifer and Jason realize that we are living vicariously through their love affair in the Rain?  It's so much fun! When and where is the wedding that I'm sure all 89,000+ of us are invited to attend (at least the reception)?

Marc - My last comment was eaten by the Proxy Server.  I assure you, it was brilliant.

Anyway, I did claim dibs on cutting and pasting most of your music paragraph. (Southside Johnny -- cool!)  I'll try to come up with some answers for you.   Thanks for thinking of me -- wait, let me try this before I thank you.

Inna -- Marc tagged first :)

Grossman - I was a victim of the same injustice that had befell Elaine, so I'm back.  You are such an intriguing person Marc, but I think you know that.  I would get along with you any day of the week and twice on the Holy Day.  There will come a time, sooner rather than later I hope, that we can sit down and share a frosty adult malt beverage and shoot the breeze.  Thanks for the very humbling mention man, I'm probably just as big of a fan of yours.

Jan... Ask Jason. I just do as he says :))

p.s. Can't wait to read your Meme!

Hi Guys!!  Glad I had to head out for a farewell party, so now I'm appropriately primed.

Dan - You surely don't expect me to feel sorry for you since your wife penned me in as a victim.  It will just be so much fun to read your cut & pasted version?!?  :)

Jennifer - Thank you very much, but oh how sad!!  I am so sorry for you to give someone so much leeway.

Sandra - Thank you very & you go girl!!!

Dan - Actually, I wouldn't have minded seeing that, but you are somewhat correct.  But a thousand words - a picture - could be a toss up!

Inna - Thank you very much.  But did someone say Kosher!?!  Believe me I knew what we were up against in regard to the numbers and knew that I had to do it then and not wait.  Sorry, OK, well maybe!?!

Jan - Firstly, thank you very much.  I knew that you'd enjoy and am looking forward to your MeMe.  Yes, I knew that everyone would have to dig a little deeper, but with 89K it shouldn't be so hard.  In regard to the Miss Sardi & Bukaty wedding, the only thing that I know is talk of a white wedding dress and Lenza somehome involved.  Of course, with that info, I may have to turn this post into a Members Only shortly, but OH WELL!  You only live once, well maybe, but we won't go there yet.

Elaine - You know Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes?!?  Too freakin' cool!!  I only thought that except for a couple of songs, they made it only on the east coast and basically the Jersey shore.  Yes, I do understand only too well about the AR servers.  Didn't they upgrade and it appears that it is no better whatsoever, but hey, what the heck do I know.

Sardi - You know that the feeling is quite mutual, but my mention of a certain apparel might change your mind.  But, yes, I await that time myself, my dear friend!!

Inna & Elaine - Southside Johnny is all yours.  I was just going through so many musical people and had to actually stop myself.  There are so many that I left out.  One of my favorite songs is House at Pooh Corner by Loggins & Messina.  It was hard to decide a favorite.  I just saw Bruce more than any of the others.  Heck, he's bee around over 35 years performing that I know.  I thought the Southside clip with Bruce was just so cool!  Look at how young he is.  Geez!!!

Jennifer - Oh dear child, we need to talk!!!  But cant' wait to read yours as well.

OK, kids have some fun!!!

Marc:  "How Do I Love Thee, Let Me Count The Ways".  I'll count, you write.  Funny with all the 1's!  There's a whole lot of linking going on here.  Like a groupie thingey!  Never figured you for Picasso.  You have chosen some of my favorite people... best bloggers and you tagged some of my favorite people, too.   Jan Evett just called me today and I haven't had the time to call her back.

Seriously, thanks; I'll do my best.  But, don't count on it for a few days.  Hopefully a listing tomorrow night, then showing property Saturday.  Got a heck of alot of home work to do; got to fit all this around my golf game.

Marc, a great eight question self-disclosure. I got a kick out of that Kosher Deliman gig.

Marc:  Mr. Lenza and a white dress... wow ... can't wait to see the AR video replay... JK!  Jennifer will be gorgeous in a white dress...  She said we have to ask Sardi...  I'm a little scared to do that... will you ask for all of the inquiring minds in the Rain?

This is a public post, so I can't say any more than how the hell can I top mom of the year?  You're killing me here. :)

Jan W. - Glad you're busy with work.  We'll be looking forward to your MeMe!

Gary - What can I tell you!  It's still in my blood.

Jan E. - Now you have Lenza in a white dress?  Inquiring minds have already posed the question, but....

Lisa - I've been good about that one for a while or do we have to bring it up again?!?  Hmmm......

Jen & Lisa - OK, so which one of you ate late last night?

Sally - I love fine dining, but can't eat out as much.  Otherwise I could never work any of it off.

Jeannette - That's more important, but we'll be looking forward to it when you get a chance.

Posted by Marc Grossman, GRI - Greater Orlando Real Estate Broker (Marc It Sold!) about 1 year ago

Marc....  in regards to your first two songs, yes, I guess you were showing your age.  But you cheated... it said, pick one... you picked thousands... lol  But most of the other ones that you picked I enjoy very much. In regards to Bruce's song, I like that one also. Another favorite of mine is Born to Run.

Overall, what happened to your creative juices?  lol   The best time in history to live... yes, I do like todays day and age, but I think it's because we are spoiled. But there were some interesting times back then.

In any case, I am enjoying these also and thanks for sharing them.  And thanks for the link love.

Hey Marc - Came back to visit and had to start my day with "The Fever", then, I had to go into "I Don't Wanna Go Home."  Thanks for the music!

Lisa & Jen - Aw geez!

Posted by Elaine Hanson, REALTOR® ~ Topanga, CA Real Estate Specialist (Snyder Sutton Real Estate) about 1 year ago

Marc, I love all of your music picks.  I was short and sweet and only picked one?  Southside Johnny rocks.  It was tough but I did.  I agree that Jason and Jennifer are great bloggers.  Lenza is so far above my head, I sort of don't get it, but that is not to say that he is not brilliant and it is not difficult to go over my head?

I used to work in the restaurant business, loved it.  I wanted to go to culinary school for a time.  Then didn't want to stand in the kitchen while the world went by.  Instead, I sell real estate - go figure- never cut out for 9 to 5?  It was fun to learn about you!

Posted by Audrey June-Forshey, GRI, Gaithersburg, MD (RE/MAX Realty Group) about 1 year ago

Jeff - Thanks, but couldn't resist.  Love Born to Run also, but everyone knows that one.  Rosalita was always one of my favorites.  Yes, we are very spoiled, but also look at how much has gone in our era in terms of progression.  OK, we can debate its pros and cons, but not now.  The only period in time that I can think that I might have enjoyed would have been during the Industrial Revolution.  I think that would have been fascinating, but then again no moreso than our present times.  Link love is always good - sent you a bunch more by posting this on other sites as well.

Jeanette - Thank you my dear.

Elaine - You like Graham Parker and the Rumor?!?  Wow!!  Who'd have thunk!!

Audrey - Thank you very much.  You are not alone in any way in regard to understanding Lenza.  I never thought of culinary school, but must admit that I probably would have been good at it.  But then again I never really got into the business until late in college.  I think you made a great choice.  This business of ours is awesome!  I'm going to head over and read your MeMe now.

Kosher Deliman?  You've got many facets, my friend!  Great Meme.

Posted by Audrey Hoffman, VoteAudrey (VoteAudrey blog) about 1 year ago

Audrey - Thank you very much!  What can I say, the deliman part was in my blood.  Actually, if I did it any longer I probably would have been considered a master in the trade.  It's a funny thing it's something that you either have or you don't.  You could teach some people some of the aspects, but not all.
